Welcome to The Global Health Campaign The Global Health Campaign is a new charity created to develop free sustainable healthcare in rural Africa where little to no healthcare is available. Many organizations provide medical aid in developing countries across the world, be it part of disaster relief or a more prolonged effort to support communities. However, whilst aid is an extremely important element of our support for such communities, one disadvantage with the structure of aid is that even prolonged support often fails to provide any sustained development for the future. Some schemes work closely with existing hospitals to better support local communities; a system that is effective within the immediate area. However very little is being done to take truly sustainable healthcare out into rural Africa, developing a system that can grow with a community and continue to affect lives. This is where The Global Health Campaign comes in. We will be working closely with rural communities to develop a system of healthcare solutions that best serve their medical needs. This will take place through two main elements. |

Economic Development As part of out plans for sustainability, The Global Health Campaign aims to develop training programs within our hospitals that will allow members of the local community to be trained to work in a variety of jobs at our centre's. This will bring work into the community, aiding local economic development. Community Challenge Grants All our hospitals will be developed under a community challenge grant. This is a scheme by which prospective communities are challenged by The Global Health Campaign to aid in the construction of the hospital. This means that whenever a community approaches us to develop a hospital in their area, we make a proposal that we will provide the materials and knowledge to run the hospital providing that the community can donate both the land and labour required to construct it. This system is widely used by charities constructing education facilities throughout the developing world and is regarded as the best way to integrate a donated facility into a community as the people of the community are heavily involved in the construction of the facility and take control of the building once it is completed. Leading to the new facility being seen as a true part of the local community and not just a gift. |
